Is The RCA 7 Voyager A Bargain? An Honest Opinion.

Brittany, my daughter, bought me a wonderful 10 inch RCA tablet from WalMart recently. I proceeded to break it within the first week by dropping it from the arm of the couch. When we brought it back, thankfully, we had the option of getting a new one or getting our money back.

After a week of using the 10 inch, it was clear that I would prefer a smaller size as reading in bed was a bit awkward. This was when we discovered the RCA 7 Voyager for the very low price of $49.99. After ordering it – store had none in stock, I anxiously awaited it’s arrival and did some research. I was not exactly impressed with the reviews. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home.

Tablets Features:

For the price, these features are wonderful. However, I was worried about the storage. After installing everything I need (now have 86 apps and 56 widget options – plus, photos, documents, books, and more), only half of the storage has been used. The option of using a micro SD card was a shock but not been utilized as of yet.

Quality Report:

The quality rates a 4 out of 5.  One can not expect the bells and whistles for under $50 but overall, it is well made – some reviews I had read did say that after a while the battery could expand from the heat; I will watch for this but have no problems yet.

The only problems that was discovered was the charging cord stopped working and had to be replaced. In addition, it is difficult to see when looking at an particular angle. Luckily, I don’t read at this angle so this has not affected me much.

My Many Uses of The Tablet:

In addition to reading books and other blogs, I have found many wonderful uses for my new toy. Sharing with social networks, keeping track of schedules and email, jotting down notes, and watching videos is a breeze and it has only froze up once. There is more but it would take all day to list them all. Let me just say, I “play” with my toy a lot.

Wrap It Up:

Overall, this tablet is worth the cost at this time. The few minor problems that I have found was easily fixed. However, there is a worry about the longevity of this product. I will keep you updated on this issue. I still want the Surface Pro 3 but I will keep this one for those laying down reading sessions even if one was to magically appear.
